M.E. – Network Engineering

About the program
The Master of Engineering in Network Engineering is an interdisciplinary education programme which covers Information Theory, Mobile computing, Network Security and Cryptography. This program teaches students, how to effectively to acquire skills to design, maintain, and manage network infrastructure and applications. Students also learn how to effectively secure information systems and infrastructure, and to investigate any information security and network breaches.

Education courses included in this Master of Network Engineering are:

  • Wireless Communications & Network Security 
  • Service Oriented Architectures and Technologies 
  • Internet Core and Enterprise Routing 
  • Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing

This is a two year program to which students are admitted based on their performance in the Common entrance test. The program requires students to take over three semesters of course work, including 28 credits of core courses, 4 credits of laboratory courses, and 18 credits of elective courses. In addition, there is a Masters project that the students carry out over a period of almost two semesters. The M.E. project is stringently evaluated at three stages, a thesis is an essential requirement, and often the work leads to publications.

B.E./B.Tech. in the following streams with minimum percentage of marks recommended by Anna University are eligible:
1. Electronics and Communication
2. Computer Science and Engg.
3. Information Technology
4. Electronics

Upon completion of this Master of Network Engineering, graduates are well-prepared to launch successful careers in the field of security and networkinginformation security management, network architecture, security analysis, and IT security/ risk consulting.
