The Department of Biotechnology of Arunai Engineering College was established in the year 2002. The department offers B.Tech Biotechnology and M.Tech Biotechnology which is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. The department has been in the cause of education for the past 11 years. The UG course was started with intake of 30 students, later the intake was raised to 60 in the academic year 2005, it was accredited by NBA from 2009-12. Exclusive PG program (M.Tech - Biotechnology) was started in the year 2012 with intake of 18 students. The department is accredited by NBA.
The Department of Chemicl Engineering is one of the ldest department in the Institute which has deep rooted its existence since 1998. The alumni of the department are well placed in almost all parts of the country and across all core domains of Chemical Engineering.
ELIXIR
Elixir-Biotech student’s association of AEC was started in the year 2006 to explore the innovative ideas of students and to create awareness among Bioresources to the rural population. The activities of ELIXIR were wide but not limited, the association is instrumental behind the successful conduct of every event in the department including HAPTEN.
